DISTRICT AWARDS
The judges may send as many winners on to the Regional Auditions as they feel appropriate. Cash prizes for the top singers are determined by the number of singers advancing to the Regional competition. The total amount distributed for the 2006 District Awards is $12,350 resulting from the following breakdown:

ENCOURAGEMENT AWARDS:
In addition to the District Awards, the following encouragement awards have been awarded:
Colleen Brooks, Soprano, age 26 was awarded the $600 Katz Award.
Anna Nummelin, Soprano, age 22 was awarded the $500 Mary E. Kelly Youth Award.
Summer Grest, Soprano, age 29 was awarded the $500 Romany Singers Award.
Christopher Smith, Tenor, age 22 was awarded the $500 Skylight Opera Theatre Award.
Michelle Hackman, Soprano, age 29 was awarded the $300 Arline Johnson Award.
Keith Dixon, Baritone, age 23 was awarded the $200 Joan Kreitzer Snyder Award.
Hein Jung, Soprano, age 29 was awarded the $100 People’s Choice Award.
In addition to the awards, the Florentine Opera is giving several singers performance opportunites. They have chosen three singers to perform in the St. John’s Recital on January, 25, 2007. They are:
Hein Jung, Daniel Peretto, and Steven Ebel.
They have also chosen a singer to perform in a supporting role on their main stage. That singer is:
Rebecca Olthafer
