James N. Kryshak, a tenor Master's student at Madison, won first place along with Kate Crist a soprano from the Iowa District in the Upper Midwest Metropolitan Opera National Council Region Auditions. Both singers will advance to the semi-final round in New York in February with a chance to move onto the Grand Finals Concert on February 22nd.
2nd Place went to another singer from our District, Megan Dewald, a soprano currently going to school in Indiana for her Masters.
3rd Place went to Janalyn Bump, a soprano from the Minnesota District. Janalyn is from Wisconsin and won an encouragement award at our 2007 Auditions.
An Encouragement award went to Rebecca Woodmass from the North Dakota District.
